Hyderabad: New Shop, a convenience retail chain, has officially entered the southern market with the launch of 20 new franchise outlets in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. This strategic expansion into the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana underscores New Shop's commitment to broadening its national presence.

This move not only aims to tap into the vibrant consumer base of southern India but also to stimulate local economies by creating numerous employment opportunities through its franchising model.

This expansion follows the company’s aggressive growth strategy focusing primarily on Tier 2 and 3 cities. A key step in this strategy was the acquisition of its competitor Godfrey Phillips' retail arm 24Seven, India's oldest convenience store chain. This move, not only solidified the company's dominance in the convenience retail sector but also set the stage for further geographic expansion, particularly targeting key transit locations in southern states.

The expansion strategy also aims to integrate the best technology and convenience for customers, with plans to include various services such as EV charging stations at select locations to enhance customer experience.

Aastha Almast, Co-Founder of New Shop, said, "Our expansion into Telugu States is a pivotal moment in our journey to build a comprehensive network of convenience stores across India."
